Alexeev’s Hydrofoil Design Bureau handed over to “Zvezdochka”

JSC “R.E.Alexeev’s Hydrofoil Design Bureau” handed over general service boat “Katran” to JSC “Shiprepairing Center “Zvyozdochka” (Severodvinsk, a part of United shipbuilding corporation). According to the press service of the company, the dekivery took place at the International Maritime Defence Show in Saint-Petersburg.

“Katran” is a high-speed highly maneuverable wide service boat, designed to serve the ship-carrier, being at anchorage. The boat is capable to achieve the speed up to the 32 knots and board 10 passengers. It is fitted with the equipment for ensuring of diving work process. What is more, there are implemented the technical solutions in the construction, which provide its safe launch and lifting with the crew to the board of the carrier-vessel at the sea disturbance of up to 4 points. Hydrofoil DB plans to build series of such boat.

The boat, built to ensure the work of oceanographic research vessel “Academician Alexandrov”, was launched on April 16. The Designer was CMDB “Almaz”, which designed the research vessel. The boat will provide the daily activity of “Academician Alexandrov”, also it will be used for lightweight diving descents from the board and carrying out the towing works. The price of double boat with the passenger capacity for 1- people and displacement of 5.73 tons is about 50 mln. rubles. Hydrofoil Design Bureau expects to get the order on three more boats of the type “Katran” on the state contract.
