Wide service high-speed boat “Katran” was launched

High-speed highly maneuverable wide service boat “Katran” was launched in Alexeev’s Hydrofoil Design Bureau on May 17. It was reported by the press-service of the Governor and Government of Nizhny Novgorod.

The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of industry, trade and entrepreneurship of Nizhny Novgorod region, Igor Sazonov.

The boat will be located on the carrier-vessel and used for the transporation of people, cargo and towing of different floating crafts with the displacement of up to 70 tons, as well as to provide the daily activity of main vessel during the riding at anchor, inshore moorings and in the base.

According to the General Director of the design bireau, Sergey Dementiev, “Katran” is capable to achieve the speed up to the 32 knots and board 10 passengers.

What is more, there are implemented the technical solutions in the construction, which provide its safe launch and lifting with the crew to the board of the carrier-vessel at the sea disturbance of up to four points, - explained Dementiev.

“For 65 years, the company is specialized in design and building of high-speed vessels. There were built thousands of vessel, basing on the projects of Alexeev’s Hydrofoil DB, and all of them are successfully operated in more than 35 countries of the world.  “Katran” is a joint work of JSC “CMDB “Almaz” and JSC “R.E.Alexeev’s Hydrofoil Design Bureau” for JSC “Shiprepairing Center “Zvyozdochka”.  “It was the first experience of the building at own production of the projects of the third-party organization in the history of DB”, - said Igor Sazonov.

Let’s remind, that for seven years of the work of support program of Nizhny Novgorod region’s industry, signed by the Governor Vakeriy Shatsev, the manufacture was modernized by more than 400 large and medium-sized enterprises (it is about 70% of large and medium-sized enterprises of region), that gave Nizhny Novgorod’s enterprises the possibility to get the major Federal and international order. The regional support program of industry involves the provision of industry enterprises with concessional loans for the purchase of modern high-performance equipment, support on the search of foreign partners, etc.
