High-speed boat “Katran” was launched in Hydrofoil Design Bureau

R.E.Alexeev’s Hydrofoil Design Bureau launched high-speed boat “Katran”, - reports a press-service of the government of Nizhny Novgorod region.

The new vessel will be located on the carrier-vessel and used for the transporation of people, cargo and towing of different floating crafts with the displacement of up to 70 tons, as well as to provide the daily activity of main vessel during the riding at anchor, inshore moorings and in the base.

The Director of design bureau Sergey Dementiev told us about the possibilities of new boat: it is capable to achieve the speed up to the 32 knots, board 10 passengers and efficiently work at the sea disturbance of up to 4 points.

The Deputy Minister of industry, trade and entrepreneurship of Nizhny Novgorod region, Igor Sazonov, who attended the event, noted that design bureau named after Alexeev carries out the building of high-speed vessels, of which there are thousands, for 65 years, they can be found in 35 countries, and everywhere they are  successfully operated. In addition to this, the Minister stressed that “Katran” is first experience in a joint work of JSC “CMDB “Almaz” and JSC “R.E.Alexeev’s Hydrofoil Design Bureau” for JSC “Shiprepairing Center “Zvyozdochka”.
